APOYO is dedicated to improving the health and wellness of Latino communities through education and physical activity. Our efforts have led to the creation of two new health groups: Amigos Atléticos and Amigas en Acción. Together, we can make a positive impact on the well-being of our community.

Vaccine Clinic
In partnership with APOYO, Kittitas County Health Network, Kittitas County Public Health Department, and Unidos Nueva Alianza Foundation, a Vaccine Clinic will be held on
Saturday, June 22 from 11 am to 3 pm
At APOYO Food Bank – 1820 E 18th Ave, Ellensburg, WA 98926
The Vaccine Clinic will provide blood glucose and blood pressure screenings. As well as child immunizations, FLU, and COVID-19 vaccines for patients 6 months and older.

COVID-19 Education
Working in partnership with the Kittitas County Health Network, APOYO sponsors COVID-19 vaccine clinics and provides education about the importance of vaccines and COVID-19 safety to our community.
Our sports and fitness clubs, Amigos Atléticos and Amigas en Acción, were created to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Isolation and inactivity during the pandemic have created long-term negative impacts on physical, emotional, and social health and well-being. APOYO activities make everyone feel better.
APOYO has offered workshops on opioid addiction and women’s health and will offer more, as funding permits.
Additionally, in spring 2024, after recognizing the lack of accessible recreational sports for adults, APOYO launched the APOYO Soccer League for adults. Click here to learn more.
Internship Opportunities
Student interns are essential members of our team. Our needs constantly change, and you can help at APOYO in many ways. Health & Wellness internships provide great opportunities for those pursuing Education, Health/Physiology, and Sports Management degrees.
As a Health & Wellness Intern, you’ll embrace hands-on experience, empowering minds to prioritize well-being and build lifelong healthy habits.

Amigos Atléticos
Amigos Atléticos is APOYO’s free after-school sports program for kids in grades five through ten. Kids play sports and exercise with friends and learn about health and wellness under the guidance of young adult mentors.
Amigas en Acción
APOYO’s free women’s fitness club from June 2023 to August 2024. Where members met to exercise, learn about health and wellness, and make new connections with community members.

APOYO Community Cup 2023
APOYO’s first Community Cup was a golazo!
We enjoyed an exciting 4-3 match, delicious cooking from our community members, and learned about local community health and wellness resources.
