APOYO is proud to announce its participation in the Washington State Department of Agriculture’s We Feed WA Food Program. Working together with WSDA and Washington farmers and ranchers, we continue to learn about and address the needs and barriers that food-insecure Washingtonians face.
What is the We Feed WA program?
The We Feed WA food program is an initiative launched by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. This program is part of the State’s coordinated response to food insecurity arising from the COVID-19 crisis and recovery period. The WSDA program has two primary objectives: to increase access to fresh and nutritious food, and to provide economic assistance by supporting Washington farms and businesses.
The program aims to facilitate the procurement and distribution of food across Washington to organizations that prioritize hunger relief and serving socially-disadvantaged communities as defined by the Washington State Legislature, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) communities. This is APOYO!
Partnership with APOYO
With support from We Feed WA, APOYO can continue providing high-performance service while utilizing minimal resources and infrastructure. As partners, we increase the certainty of food distribution, beginning with direct support for local farmers and ranchers in Washington. Ultimately, we establish more food security by providing nutritious foods that respect dietary needs and celebrate culture.
