Edgar U. Espino (he/him/el/ellos) is a proud APOYO’s IMPACTO program member. He graduated from Central Washington University in 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science and currently serves as the Campus Organizer for the Washington Bus in Seattle. The Washington Bus empowers youth and increases their political engagement in their communities.
Edgar’s commitment to community organizing is deeply personal. As someone shaped by the very community he now serves, he is passionate about giving back and fostering leadership—particularly among Latino men. He strives to be a role model that other men, especially Latino men, can look up to—someone they can see themselves in and feel pride in who they are and what they do.
Edgar joined the Organizing Committee to give back to the Central Washington community, create new pathways for youth engagement, and provide the support he often lacked growing up.
Hobbies: Outside of his political work, Edgar is an avid music enthusiast. He plays snare drum in the Seattle Seahawks Blue Thunder Drumline, drum set in a Seattle-based rock band called The Dead Wings, and serves as a drumline instructor for Seismic Sound and Sonic Bloom. When he’s not organizing or making music, he enjoys hiking, playing basketball, working out, writing music, making beats, and spending time with his community.
